Moore-MacMichael was founded in 1957 by Harry Moore and Bayard MacMichael.  Bayard, an avid opera buff, used profits he earned on the television show “The 64,000 Question” to start the business.

The agency began selling paint sundries to local hardware stores in the Chicago area.  The business moved along for many years, but began to thrive when Bob Mathew joined in 1983.  Bob owned his own agency prior to that and brought key accounts Grainger, McMaster-Carr, and True Value into the fold.  For 25 years Bob managed the company, expanded its scope, supplier portfolio and customers base.

In 2012 Bob sold the agency to Andy Mendygral.  At that time, Andy elevated Dave Brashler to be a Partner.  Since then, MooreMac has more than doubled their topline revenue.  Their hard work and continued reinvestment in key areas such as; technology, talented new employees and increased customer and supplier visits has paved the way.  The commitment to our core values: perseverance, humility, and a strong moral compass has helped strengthen relationships with our customers and supplier partners.  Although we have been in business since 1957, we are young and hungry to succeed.

The primary markets MooreMac serves are Industrial/MRO, Retail/Hardware, Ag/Farm, and Contractor Supply.
